Can anyone tell me what age of 911 Targa I would need to get rear seat belts and would they be lap and diagonal or just lap belts. I’ve always wanted a 911 but I need rear belts for the odd occasion that I have to take my children to nursery. Any advice gratefully received.

I wouldn't worry. Buy the best 911 targa you can afford (the 993 ones are best, IMHO, as the others can leak and don't look as good as the coupes) and retrofit the belts if necessary. Not expensive. Maybe 100-200 GBP.

Finally persuaded better half that 993 was suitable people carrier

After purchase I found that you need seat belt extension at £90 each plus fitting to fit a prince child seat Couldn't find any seat that would fit without this mod. Haven't yet found a baby seat (less than 9 months) to fit the rear. Dont want to fit airbag deactivator to fit baby seat the front. The 3 month old will have to wait.

993 targa based on cabriolet so rear seats even smaller. Be certain that you can fit appropriate seats before you buy. Baby seat specialists know little about Porsches and to some extent vice versa.

2 year old v.happy in prince seat only grumbles when I get stuck behind a bus (must be genetic)

Believe me once sorted standard 993 is a sensible family car. Good luck
