No - you won't be able to buy a car with your Amex. OPC West London wouldn't even let me pay the mandatory £10k deposit on my 997 Turbo with an Amex.

When I bought my 987, I used my Switch card. Bank called straightaway to query the transaction but all was fine after a couple of security questions.

they let me pay the 10k on mastercard...which got me thinking about the balance, No harm giving it a go

in tokyo atm - most of the Porsches are LHD - apparently hard to buy exotics in RHD, weird as no prob in the UK.

I've paid for my last four cars with my switch card. Two were Porsches - and the OPC was willing to take my Amex card solely for the £1K initial deposit where they put you in the queue. For the 10% they want at specification time they wanted Switch.

Understandably given the charges involved. You don't get Membership Rewards for nothing. Amex is making a lot more per transaction than Switch.
