Bloody Irish roads - exhaust broken again

I had my exhaust off the car again today and had to weld it as the link-bars holding the two pipes together had broken off one of the pipes.

It's down to the crap Irish roads and the humps that are on them clipping the clamps on the pipes.

I hate to think what they may do to the rest of the car long-term.

I've got very good at looking at the road surface ahead now.

English Roads are the same. I did mine a few months ago.

It's a pain in the arse, isn't it.

I had to raise my car and stiffen the suspension after getting it to try and save the bottom of it.

And now the exhaust .... again.

This is the second time I've had to get the welder out.

The down-side of living in the countryside, eh?

Still, it has to be the most fun car I've ever had.

I suppose it depends where you are going really.

There are a number of Chims on the roads here and they seem to get along ok.

There are ony two other Cerbs I know of (one owner is on the forum here, don't know about the other) and I'm not sure how they get on.

You should be fine, unless you are going onto the really small back roads ("boreens" as they are known here).

Cerb's are pretty rare around there and I got a lot of looks as I drove along.

Mine did the same thing. Made a god awful noise. Just put it up on ramps and bent the thing out of the way to stop it catching.
No doubt someone will tell me that if I dont attend to it immediately the exhaust will self destruct.
Seems ok for now though

That was what was wrong with mine.

I took it off and welded it.

That's twice in under six months I've had to do it.

I find that the exhaust knocks on something, regardless of where it's positioned! The tinging is just the very annoying icing on the cake.

On the upside, it's fooking loud on full chat and you can't hear the tinging

It's hard to hear it while driving.

I heard it on mine when I went to open the garage door.
