Exhaust height

Hi all

I finally got the Cerb back with a quiter, nicer sounding exhaust. My neghbours are aslo happier that the straight throughs are gone.

The Japanese garage did a sterling job creating a bespoke system from scratch and used a hybrid of sports exhaust parts: The two small stainless rear boxes are Flowtech's from a GT4.6 Mustang system and the 3inch tails are off a system for a 3200 Maserati with built in baffles - so it's really a one-off custom job. Very happy with how it looks. Shiny Bling bling all over the back end. But cost me a bloody fortune!

They spent some time building the system as they insisted on using the existing mounting points and the most time was spent lining it up properly. It's very straight but my problem is that it could go up an inch higher. it's a touch low for my liking. So my question is two fold.

1. What is a good clearance distance from box to ground and are the standard mounts easy enough to raise myself? Didn't want to drive an hour away to get them to adjust it again. Haven't scraped it yet. But I can tell it's gonna happen.

I will try and post some pics of the system so you know what I mean.

Sorry one more thing.

How would I know if Lambda Sensors are shot? Where are they? easy to replace? How often does it need replacing? What do they do?

Here are some of the things that are happening. In no particular order:

1. Strong fuel smell - running rich.
2. Lots of soot flying out of exhaust. Driveway now has two streaks about 3 feet long on the ground. And rear end is splattered with black spots. (Mind you it's a new rear section of exhaust? - CATS still on.)
3. Flat spot at 2-3000rpm...but not always.
4. Really bad fuel consumption.

All these may be mutually exclusive...but these are the obvious things I notice when I drive it.

I'd advise you to hook the car up to your Laptop - that will help you identify any problems.
On the subject of how high should the exhaust be, I'd say as high as possible, obviously the exit tail pipes should fit nicely to the 2 cut outs on the body work, but the silencers should be asfar away from the ground as you can get them.
