Engine block oxidation

Hi guys

I've got an Ariel Atom, the engine is pretty much exposed to all the sh*te in creation As with all alloy engines it suffers from oxidation on the surface, looks awful.

What's the best way to remove this oxidation and prevent it from returning - if that's possible?

You could clean it up with solvol autosol or something like that then treat it with Alocrom 1200 which you brush or spray on. Downside is that it has a jaundiced, cadmium plated, appearance.
