Storage Advice

I have taken the plunge and got a cerb! Thanks to everyone who replied to previous posts with advice.

Wanting to look after it as best I can I wondered if anyone had experience of both dehumidifiers and the carcoon/air chamber type solutions -which is best to create the right environment for the car - keeping the dreaded rot at bay!

The former suck moisture out of the air. any problems with drying out the leather?

The later blow air over the car like when its on a washing line... I think thats the main difference...

Would be handy if someone had tried both and could compare performance.

BTW I have a modern house with a large double garage with the boiler housed in it so its dry and relatively warm when the boilers on. I currently havnt blocked up the gaps under the garage door, so they is a circulation of air, and the car is for weekends only so isnt used every day.

I think your worrying too much, the Cerb isn't that fragile! If you have a modern garage then that is fine for keeping the car in. Those coccon things are really designed for people who keep classic cars in storage for extended periods, ie months and years.

I agree with jensena. Its only the chassis that will attract rust and I reckon if that is waxoyled regularly there shouldnt be a problem. Besides those caccoons are a faff. You just wanna get in and drive it. Any excuse. Go for a paper. Take the long way round. Ive had mine for just over a week nom and I've driven it every day - coz I can

and the chassis will still rot ! If you look where it is next to the manifolds there aint much you can do to stop the rot.

waxoil for the underneath & polish on the topside, fuel for the tank. Job done.
