Trouble watching videos and such

Recently, my computer stopped showing videos from Youtube and such, or any flash application. Youtube tells me I "have Javascript turned off or need the latest flash player". I have flash 9 and I thought I fixed it last night by deinstalling the flash thing in "add/remove progs" and letting it reinstall itself, but now it has started again...

If you understand what I just said, how do I fix that? I just quit my job, so if I don't have a computer on which I can view PH videos life is going to be dull...

have you tried downloading firefox and then downloading the firefox plugin? may also fix IR issue

nope, haven't tried that. To be honest I haven't got a clue what firefox is... Oh well, off I go...

I had a go with firefox but that didn't solve it. Went to look for a plugin and got lost, only just got back now... Anyway is there somewhere I can turn Javascript on and off? Would windows defender have anything to do with it?
