a 97 is the earlier 510bhp car, i have one, i'm not sure how many are around? i would say condition is most important with history. the cheapest sv i heard of was a heavily used car in the low 60's.

I've been keeping my eye on the Countach/Diablo market as I hope to be looking to buy one myself this year. At the moment Top Gear Specialist Cars have a lovely looking 1997 SV in viola with 15K miles for £69990. Cheapest I've seen was a yellow '98 with 18K miles for £59995. BUT, it was a cat D, bodyshop repaired, and for sale by a salvage company. I would have wanted to go through that with a very fine toothed comb. A good deal would probably be around £65k ish? Bearing in mind that a dealer would give a warranty which could be worth a lot on something like this.

The viola coloured Diablo SV mentioned at Top Gear has exactly 2 problems as far as I can see, (having driven it a bit).

These are:

1 You have to really, really like the "Alcantara and nowt' else" interior and

2 Compared to some of the other Lambo's Carlo had travelling up to Knockhill on the weekend I drove it, it was perhaps a little too quiet on the standard pipe…

These very minor consideration aside, it's a peach motor to drive and also, even 'erself enjoyed being in seat no. 2 once she realised that, well, I'm not that bad a driver, whatever anyone else on PH says…

the yellow cat d, i'm sure i heard that car was unrecognisable after a big accident, then reappeared looking like a new car? eek

david, all sv's as std came with alcantara, tt spec'd mine fully trimmed, some have a bare plastic console etc.
i thought i'd gone down market after having leather seats in other cars, but now i prefer it, feels cooler in the summer and not as cold in winter.
