New to this forum. Have enjoyed reading the posts - especially those comparing Ferrari & Lamborghini's.

I had previously convinced myself that waiting for the price of second hand 430's to drop to around the 90k mark was the the way for me to go. But I have recently had my head turned by the Gallardo, so much so that I have become smitten with them.

I have had some insurance quotes and was trying to find out the regular yearly service costs.

Any feedback would be welcome. Tried using the search feature but it just 'hangs'.

Pending CrickeyMikey's probably imminent reply, why not contact the fine folk at Lamborghini Edinburgh? Since I'm a LCUK committee member, I can't 'officially' say that you should or must do that but I can suggest you might, so try taking a look at www.lamborghiniedinburgh.co.uk

also, (shameless 'sales' pitch warning!), why not think about joining LCUK? You wouldn't be the only Member near to Inverness and as you may already know, Scotland also has a certain car dealer who is very well thought of both on Piston Heads and elsewhere, (if there is actually such a place as 'elsewhere' to PH) and who would be delighted to hear from you, I'm sure - not that he has a Gallardo for sale at this time, or at least I think he hasn't...

If you like, you could also take a look at the Club's website which is at www.lamborghiniclubuk.com - we have at least one event planned in Scotland this year and with luck, perhaps more be added as the year progresses.

If you had listed an email contact in your PH details, I'd have sent this via that address but, as you haven't I thought I'd send this via the public route instead. If you don't reply then I'll delete this in the next day or so anyway but, GOOD LUCK with finding your Gallardo!

Very roughly, assuming nothing major needs doing, circa £1000 per year or 7500 miles. Don't forget 3 year warranty on UK cars.

From two years of ownership this is about right.

First year's service at 7,500 miles on my 05 car was just over £1,000.

However, Lambo London (who I probably won't use, trying Lambo B'ham) are quoting £2,500 for the 15,000 mile service. (I'd welcome views if this is a bit steep?)

In addition, new set of rear tyres at 8,000 miles, at £600. Plus geometry checks each year at £400.

I'd reckon on £4,000 over 2 years on this basis (admittedly perhaps a slightly higher mileage than average).

Kind regards

Steve

Minor services (every 7,500)= £1100,
Major service at every 15,000 = £2,200

Front tyres last a good 10,000 miles while the rears, if you stick with stock rubber last 5,000. depending on your mileage yoiu might want to consider another option.

I use Michelin tyres, about the same price £450 for a set of fronts, £550 for a set of rears, these give you twice the mileage with slightly less grip on those hot days when you might push the car. However, saying that I like the fact that the Michelins give up a little earlier - adds to the fun and is probably a warning to slow down a little.

15k mile major service was £2000 dead at Lamborghini Wycombe for me recently.

They quoted £2500 at first, but after getting the lowest quote from Lambo Manchester at £2k, Wycombe agreed to price match and as they are nearer + IMHO more experienced at looking after Lambo's than a HR Owen outfit (Manchester/London) - I used them.

Thanks to all for taking the time to reply.
I had been put off Lamborghini ownership in recent years by two individuals who 'claimed' to own Lambo and made out that at 3-5k for regular servicing, that these cars should only be owned by the gods. Both of which considered themselves gods.
Good to see that most people posting on this forum are clearly down to earth and just love the marque.
I am sure servicing can reach big digits is something goes wrong but that's expected when you indulge in the finer things.

Thanks also to XXVII. I had a look at the LCUK site and loved the club gallery
