After 8 months of looking I've finally got the chim I've been looking for - a 450 in Starmist Blue (is that the fastest of the blues?). I picked it up on Saturday and I'm so pleased I'm taking today off work just so I can drive it(again), this time without my wife!

Knowing there is a huge pool of knowledge out there, I have one problem with the car - the passenger door lock solenoid does not work, I've checked the obvious wiring and can see nothing wrong, can the solenoid be taken out and "bench" tested or is there a more likely cause of the problem? Thanks in advance for any advice.

Welcome wavey Perfect combination of engine and colour clap

Door lock solenoid is easily and inexpensively replaced - worth doing. I had both of mine replaced last year as they became temperamental - usually when it was pouring!

My solenoid stopped working, preventing the door from working. A squirt of WD40 and it's been fine since.

Hi Jeremy,

Enjoy the car. I'm missing it already and it was sad moment to see you drive off. Hope you enjoyed your first drive home in it. Of course you have the best Chimaera on the road, but then I'm rather baised.

And didn't I tell you the guys on Pistonheads were great and would help with any problems you had? I'm just embarrased I didn't have time to quirt the solenoid with WD40 myself before you bought it.
