A'noon fella's,

Need to replace the rear boots of the 996, Michelin Pilot Sport-2's (N1)...been delighted, this will be the second set on the back, versus first set on front (usual 2:1 ratio), so want to stick to the Michelin's.

Been searching over the lunchbreak...does anyone know of any particularly good deals going at the moment?

MyTyres coming up cheapest...BlackCircles not far behind, but Kwik-Fit, whereas they were the cheapest last year, are nowhere near now, despite 20% discount for a pair.

Based in east Kent, so if not mailorder, needs to be local-ish.

Cheers in advance,
S

I recently had an excellent deal from ATS for Michelin Pilot Sports N rated tyres for my GT3 ( ATS is owned by Michelin)
Well worth a call if you have a depot near you.

If you're a member, Costco have historically had some good prices on Michelin tyres.

Try Costco, if there's one near you.

It costs £27 pa to join but their tyres (Michelins) are way cheaper than elsewhere and they have a 20% off discount between 18 Jan and 18 Feb, I think.

I hear Bracknell Tyres are by far and away the cheapest - never used them before myself but I alway see posts relating to them and how cheap they are.

Try Jes at euro tyres in wembley (yell.co.uk for the number). Not only is he competitive but your alloys will be treated with kid gloves.

Thanks for the replies chaps.

For anyone thats interested or about to also need a set of Michelin PS-II's (265/35xZR18 N1), here's what I've found with 10mins of phoning around and surfing --->

***************************************************************
MyTyres = £178.50 ea inc p&p but NOT fitted

Bracknell Tyres = £182 ea, fitted/balanced/valved inc VAT

ATS = £186 ea, fitted/balanced/valved inc VAT

CostCo = £192 ea, fitted/balanced/valved inc VAT

BlackCircles = £210 ea, fitted/balanced/valved inc VAT

KwikFit = £222 ea, fitted/balanced/valved inc VAT (also inc 20% Jan promo)

***************************************************************

Am I allowed to post pricing on here?...mods, feel free to edit if not!

Cheers
S

Afterthought...has anyone ever done a groupbuy on PH for tyres?...seen GB's for wheels and god-knows what else on other forums...must be one helluva demand for new boots on here, and from what I read, most either go for Pirelli Asi's or Pilot Sports because of the N rating.

Did the Costco price include the 20% discount you can get at the moment if you buy four tyres?

ive just got a full set of Pilot Sports, for my mk 2 gt3, from costco, at a cost of 375 for the rears and 250 for the fronts.....sooooo, i dont think the figure of 192 has factored in the 20% discount

i just replaced all four types on my C4S with Michelin Pilot sports (previously had conti's). 295's on the back, 225's on the front. £650 all in at Bracknell tyres. Costco would have been cheaper by about £60 but the 20% offer wasn't running when i needed my new set (rather urgently after failing the MOT!)

BUT be warned - one wheel came back scratched pretty badly. Bracknell Tyres do their tyres cheap but keep an eye on how much care and consideration they have with your wheels.

Prob going to get them from ATS, my nearest branch in Canterbury is only 10miles away...by the time i spend an extra 3hrs travelling up to Thurrock and back for Costco, plus the fuel, any cost saving is pretty much gone...but interesting exercise nonetheless, would never have even thought of Costco before!

Plus, IIRC my bruv took his S1 Elise there a few years back, on the basis that one of the guys working there is also a 911 owner (hoping for careful handling of rims!)

Cheers for the recommendations chaps! thumbup
