Who owns the rights to the Griffith moulds, Updated chassis, brakes and suspension and a new V8 in that classic body. It doesn't have to be called TVR just Griffith.

Now thats a car I would part with my hard earned cash for.

Dom at TVR Power has the moulds etc, don't know if that includes the rights to make new cars from them, though.

just imagine a Griff body on say something like a saggy chassis, 18in spyder wheels and a big torquey V8 bagging out 500BHP.

I think I have just wet myself.lick

You would need some clever TVR workers to make a Griff body wide enough for a saggy chassis. But hey the factory lads can make anything fit anything

Hi Kirst,

thanks for your mail sorry it has taken me a while to get back to you. I can't make the party but two out of three aint bad and good luck with it.

On the Griff front a Big yank V8 like the SC one in the Ford GT would do just great please and that should be in keeping with Mr Jack Griffith wishes.

See what you can sort out Kirst because a Griff body on a saggy chassis with a V8 is a must.

I think they tried to fit one of them Yank lumps & gearbox in a cerbie but it was way too big. I could be wrong but I'm not sure the eng would work

Shame about the party - you must look for the pics afterwards hint hint spin

I could just look at it and hear that V8 purr.cloud9 There again there is plenty of space behind the seats, just move em back a bit that should give you enough room.

I don't think the Sagaris chassis is different to the Tuscan/T350/Tamora. What gives the Sagaris the wider track is the length of the wishbones. Having just put a Sagaris body on a Tuscan racer chassis I can tell you that the outriggers are the same width apart

Rather than trying to put a V8 in a S6 chassis, if you really wanted a stiffer chassised Griff with V8 power you'd be better off starting with the Tuscan racer chassis. Which will take a Chevy, RV8, AJP8......

I suspect that you'll start seeing new Tuscan racer chassis being made later this year

Is the Tuscan racer chassis as good as the saggy one?

This just might be my next car if they do a Road/Track version.

OK Ive kept quiet so far because of "things" but Ill mention it now.

Something akin to what you are talking about Uncle B is "being looked at" and it involves a few of the factory boys. It has been "being looked at" for the last 3 months or so and it incorporates the £25k car idea that so many ppl are gagging for. The bad news is that £25k is going to be the exc VAT price, because doing it for £25k inc VAT isnt possible *and* make profit for everybody involved. The styling is being done by a cpl of lads who arent TVR, but one is a proper Lancashire lad and interiors will (hopefully) be trimmed by one of the specialist Lancashire trim firms. Negotiations are under way.

A second design that may or may but might possibly bear a resemblance to something like a Cerbie is also "being looked at". Engines are big v8's, possibly being supplied by a ph'er.

There is no 100% certainty this will come off, a few things still have to be looked at and dicussed and the figures have to be right. The work has been going on for a few months now, so quite a bit is relatively far down the line, but there are still some politics that need to be sewn up.

Interesting and potentially good news DJC. Do your comments tie into this thread?
