SO2's..NOT...SO2A's. What do people think of the SO2's since I'm thinking of putting them on my 993 turbo?

My 993 turbo was on SO2s when I bought it, and when they needed replacing I got the same again from mytyres. I therefore have no reference to compare them to but they do perform well - great grip in the dry when they're hot and sticky, yet reassuring in the wet.

Two points - weren't they stopping making the plain SO2s? And I recall reading on here a comparison of various tyres. The only criticism of the SO2s was their grip in wet once more than half-worn - the same thread plumped in favour of the Continentals I think, with the Michelins rejected because of noise levels. Worth a thread search.

Well, i actually have a set to put on the car in a few weeks so just after any opinions really. I got them at a good price when i had my spare set of hollow spokes refurbed. No problem with getting them at the time (about 3 months ago) in 225x40 and 285x40

Rears I believe should be 285 30 18 - I have just ordered some SO2's from mytyres so there are still some about. I am the same as Nel, I have only had SO2's so can't compare to any other brands but I am please with the levels of grip they offer.

I've recently fitted SO2's to my 996C4. Grip is fantastic especially in the wet. Trouble is for track (Nurburgring) use they grip so well it has made me realise I now need to upgrade my suspension. When will it ever end??
