My 993 turbo was on SO2s when I bought it, and when they needed replacing I got the same again from mytyres. I therefore have no reference to compare them to but they do perform well - great grip in the dry when they're hot and sticky, yet reassuring in the wet.
Two points - weren't they stopping making the plain SO2s? And I recall reading on here a comparison of various tyres. The only criticism of the SO2s was their grip in wet once more than half-worn - the same thread plumped in favour of the Continentals I think, with the Michelins rejected because of noise levels. Worth a thread search.

Well, i actually have a set to put on the car in a few weeks so just after any opinions really. I got them at a good price when i had my spare set of hollow spokes refurbed. No problem with getting them at the time (about 3 months ago) in 225x40 and 285x40 ![](/inc/images/smile.gif)
