Excuse me being very nosey on this one but...
With the first off the line Gallardos now approaching the end of their warranty period I was wondering how many components have been replaced under the warranty?

Thank you in advance.

My Dec 04 (54) plate has had the following under warranty:

- Steering Rack
- Windscreen Wiper Arm
- Clutch (at 10k miles)
- Coil Pack (ignition)

Nothing else has gone wrong (fingers crossed, so far)

Mosi, do you know how the ground clearance compares to a Mk2 GT3? Gallardo looks a little lower but think that may be offset by having less front overhang.

Do you have much issue with multi-storey car parks, speed humps, etc? No probs as daily driver?

No probs with ground clearance at all - in fact I scrape the front chin of my 997C2S more often on sleeping policemen. As you have already mentioned - hardly any front overhang means the front of the car isnt jutting out as much. I was following some other PH chaps in Milton Keynes along a route with loads of speedhumps the other day - they were in a 997GT3 and two 997GT3RS's...they were having issues - I wasnt.

Never had a problem at a multi storey - that said, I do tend to avoid them because the Gallardo is quite wide and most multi stoey's spaces are too tight in width.

The car could be a daily driver all day long, not a problem.

Visibility isnt great, but otherwise they are a doddle to get on with.

Thanks for the info Mosi.

Fair point on width of multi-storeys, I try avoid them where at all possible too. Thankfully some newer ones seem to be designed in mind with something wider than Mr Bean's mini.

I'd stay away from multistories. The Gallardo is a couple of inches wider than a GT3 but it's the driving position that could get you into trouble. Being a little higher, the GT is slightly easier to position at low speeds. It's all guess work in the Gallardo (and even worse in a Murci or Diablo).

The G doesn't seem to suffer so much with ground clearance because the front overhang is pretty short compared to a 360 or Gt3, and it has no rear overhang whatsoever.

And my god! arent they easy to curb!

You only have to look at a curb and the bloody things are buggered.

I find the Eurotunnel rains are a dead cert for clipping your allloys - they are just too tight for Lambo's

Don't use the car carriages, get on the one for coaches and HGVs. You will get a lot of attention from the coach occupants though.

If you want to see how bad things can get with the wheels, do a search here. I mullered both lefthand wheel at about 90mph a few weeks ago. And, yes, it was a kerb!
