hi,

I have an electronic business card that i think looks cool but probably looks rubbish that Ive set to automatically attach to the end of my emails (i use outlook express as its basic and simple, like wot i am).

however, once the email reaches more than a few lines long the text of the email begins to ghost over the business card, ensuring that it looks rubbish. how can i set it so the card automatically moves down the page as the email gets longer and the image and the text don't corrupt each other?

id appreciate any suggestions you have good, kind, clever people.

Do you mean an image and address block or an attachment of your contact details in business card format?

Lose the business card. Not everybody can read them and as soon as anyone replies to an email the attachment is lost anyway. Just put your contact details in a text block at the bottom - looks more professional (IMO) and means that people can always find your phone number no matter how far down the email chain you are.

It comes through as an attachment rather than inline in the email.

Is that the desired effect?

To get it inline you'd have to use HTML and therin lies problems in itself.

Personally I'd do it as a text block at the bottom of your emails rather than using images...

it doesnt usually, just on hotmail.

it doesnt put it in in replies, just when i create the mails and its quite useful when making initial contacts.

The problem is that you have no control over how the recipient sees your email; they may for example have chosen to receive it as text only.

So understand your customers and include it as a simple text block in the email - then you can guarantee everyone will see it.

but...whenever i get an email that has an html something on it, to see it I simply have to click 'yes please, ill see it, thanks ever so, doubley so for asking'. surely the same will work for mine?

cmon man, im not asking them to like me or owt, its not that hard.

plus the people im writing to are teachers, so its not like theyve got anything better to do.

Ah, but if they reply to you, or forward the email to their other teacher friends as a recommendation then the html portion may be lost and then all those new customers won't be able to find you.

Well it looks nice enough to me but how about automatically attaching a .vcf to new e-mails instead?
