Ok, we've had lot's of topics about best drives, roads, things you've crashed into etc, but let's be honest, we all must of had some car we've driven/owned/still own? that we'd all like to forget?

Don't be bashfull, what have/had you?

To start the ball rolling, I had to drive around in a one litre Fiat Panda (an ex girlfriends car) for a bit, and admit to owning an MG Maestro

Vauxhall Corsa. Steering, suspension and gearbox were all made of rubber.

MG Metro - Actually quite fun to drive as the handling was basically from a mini, but boy those things can rust.

Loved the red seatbelts though.

Also Renault 25 V6 - great engine, great gadgets, shitty gearbox.

And I can't forget the tyre shreddin' Ford Capri 3.0litre. Great fun in the wet but it handled like a turd. 2.8is are much better (and they are pretty bad!)

Was given a Nissan Micra once in place of the Griff (a courtesy car) and it was shite. did some fantastic handbrake turns in it though and handed it back minus a lot of rubber!

Apart from that a Dodge Viper. The biggest dissapointment I've ever had.

Had a Yugo 45A once as a hire car! It was so bad it became sort of 'fun' to drive. At least it wasn't pretending to be something it wasn't - unlike the Fiat Tipo hire car I had once which was genuinely awful

Gotta be a 1973 Austin Maxi
The suspension was a bit
It was four different shades of orange, it was forever overheating / dropping bits on the road....and it leaked about 1/2 ltr oil per day.

Reliant 3 wheeler. So bad was it that one morning I came out to find local students had put it on its roof. It took 3 of us to turn it back over again. It started first turn...

Audi A3 1.8T. Fast enough but driving it was like runnning a video game. No feedback from suspension, steering or brakes means you don't know how fast you're going, how much grip you have left or how quickly you can really stop.

A horrid, horrid car because it pretend to sportiness but in reality is a liability both to its owners and other road users.

Drove a Suzuki SJ410 (jeep thing) for about 4 miles once and it terrified me. The steering seemingly had no effect until about 3/4 of a turn was wound on, then the wind-up would unload and it suddenly turned 90 degrees in the blink of an eye; I can see why they used to fall over.

Whoever drove the prototype and said "yep, that'll be fine" should have been shot.

given a mitsubishi sigma wagon as a courtesy car once. had more rust than metal, with holes that you could literally put both hands in together and clap. steering had more than 3/4 turn of freeplay, gearbox was really sloppy, and the brakes were very suspect. We may have had some old bombs on the farm, but none of them were that bad... except for a datsun twin cab utulity, on which first the entire floor fell out, and then systematically each panel, as you can probably geuss, the rest of the car was also crud (handling, performance etc!!)

Worst Car: 300bhp Nissan Pulsar (Sunny) GTiR:
Pluses: Lots of Power, Very Quick.
Minuses: Turbo Lag from nam, No feedback from steering, chassis, brakes...... basically felt like a rubbery granny's Pulsar M1 in fast forward..... not al l that flash on the handling either.... bodyroll and high driving position spoiled any fun you could have possibly had anyway.

Favourite drives include Morgan +8 (GT2 spec engine), BMW M5 AC Schnitzer Edition (gotta love how the traction control light winks till you're about halfway through 3rd gear in daily driving situations.... well when it's turned on ) and for pure cheap thrills, my daily driver TR7 Convertible..... 105bhp.... handles like a go-kart and gets me smiling every time!

1989 VW Polo saloon, it is basically shite as it exploded on me whilst driving at 40 mph in 5th gear in country lane and suddenly it went **BANG** and the flame went up whilst I was still in the car! but luckily manage to get out..The fire service said it happen due to fan have chopped the electronic system and the spark came on and the result!..so still before the flameballed - the car never start at the first time and it break down everyweekend which it annoyed me..So after it happen I did repair the car engine but the paint work is gone and still drive it until (one week later) the clutch popped and that it!

I had to suffer one of these little horrors when my Focus was being de-rearended. GM seems to have gone back 2 generations. The diesel didn't help either. Made me feel seasick.

Wifes car when we met. The very first off the line, as seen at the motor show, as driven by the journo hacks, as seen on the cover of motoring mags, the one, the only talking Maestro. What a larf!!! Couldn't stop the bloody woman talking, and then there was the computer!
Mind you it took us to the south of France a couple of times no troubles, last time at 16mpg - makes the TVR look good!
Still on the drive if anyone wants it!?!?!? 116000 miles on original engine too.
