Afternoon,

I washed my bike at the weekend (red CBR), then applied some Autoglym Super Resin Polish. I noticed that some redness had transferred on to the cloth i was using to apply the polish. Should this happen? I'm worried i'm gonna polish my bike back to its primer!

Any ideas?

Probaly just the dead layer of paint, you get it all time with red cars & bikes....wouldn't worry too much as long as you're only using a cloth and not a buffing tool

Yup, just a dead layer of paint.

Super Resin Polish is just that - a polish. In other words, it is slightly abrasive and so will remove some dead paint.

Once this has done its job, its best then to go over it with a protecting wax. If you're keen on the Auto Glym stuff, then their Super Gloss Protecton should do just fine.

This is totally non-abrasive, and will just add a protective layer and a nice shine.

Or you could go for the cheaper route and use furniture polish (the likes of Mr Sheen) but make sure it contans beeswax.....
