Does antone know this car?
Discussion
One thing I would say is , I was brought up in the trade and my wife still is , she HPI checked all the cars i was interested in. I rang up many a owner after making initial contact only for them to stunned when they found out there cars where a total loss. You may get it for a good price , but dont try and sell it in a hurry , and expect stupid offers from people when you come to sell.My advice would be stay clear , best thing for these cars it to go racing or used as track cars which then are cheap fun and people expect them to have had some sort of shunt. Also remember unless you are used to working with GRP in a body-shop its a whole different ball game to repairing a metal motor, so you may want to checkout what body repairs they undertake. I can tell you with some idea myself as i have been working with boats for sometime since leaving the motor trade .
Bugger... beat me to it (was too busy chuckling about your bottle jack & contemplating diverse justifications to propose you additionally pack a folding shovel apart from digging a hole in the road to get the jack under sorry).. Isnt he that stupid Austrian twit who covered some well known song that has become an Octoberfest anthem?

the seller says its all fixed now so i dont have to do anything with GRP.
it was more scorched than burnt. or so i've been told.
Seriously, I would be concerned at the way it looks 2" lower on the drivers side unladen :-but you really need to look at the car.
Julian at Fibreon explained how to manipulate fibreglass to me, which was a bit alarming. You can flex it by warming to around 60c ~ but he warned to be very careful with a hot air gun as it starts to delaminate above these temperatures (hope I got this right - would be happy to be corrected). This only added to my anal complex about temperatures under the bonnet.. In balance if you only have to cut out and bond internal panels it does not require such cosmetic detail as internally. If the price is right & you are prepared to fix anything neccessary any car is a good buy. Personally I like to see owners strip & rebuild their cars, you at least know they have cared for their motors ~ not just battered them into the ground and assumed a service history is all thats required.
For quite a few of us, its not just the ownership / driving these things are big mechano sets to play with.

just had a look at photos of car - that really is not sitting right at all. I would be serioulsy suspicious of any claims made.
?? Compare the gap between the top of the front tyres and bodywork and you'll see it's the same. The crocked appearance of the car in the front on shot must be due to tilt on the camera.

Your absolutely right...
I think someone will get a real bargain here. I am going to guess it will go for 8750. Bidding will be fast and furious in a few days.

There was one the same age and colour sold as fire damaged on ebay about 3 months ago - guess it is probably the same one. From memory the advert said minor damage but it looked a bit of a mess under the bonnet so I'd definitely ask for some shots of that.
He says the only shots of before the work was done are printed and he can not get them onto the computer.
I was put off by this.
