Oh my god - values plummetting!
Discussion
First we hear the 993 suffers from RMS problems..
Then it seems owners desperate to keep prices as inflated as possible..
now it seems owners are reducing prices on their cars left right and centre to sell before prices collapse:

Quick - if you have a 993, you better sell it now for rock bottom prices or you'll be stuck with a worthless lump of metal without a manufacturers extended warranty..
and if your thinking of buying a 993, hold off till the summer, you'll be able to pick them up for the price of a used kia!

This post is somewhat tongue in cheek following all the 'tumbling prices' and 'problematic' 996 threads going around

The second hand value of 911's is truely confusing to me, for not alot more post 2000 cars (996?) can be had, is the 993 that much better a car

At least in part, it's basic supply and demand - there were far fewer 993s made than 996s.
Congratulations on just re-opening a mahooooosive can of worms

in a word.

Or a "don't make em like they used to" complex
That's the rub, though, isn't it? Some people just prefer something air-cooled. Some people prefer a vehicle with less electronics. It doesn't make 993s "better". But it does make them different and rarer. I reckon 993s will always be worth real money with their "last of the air-cooled" cachet. Doesn't mean a 996 is a worse car - just one that may be cheaper!

I disagree, on this topic the worms never have enough time to get back in the can again

Sadly, the drop poor build quality and comparatively poor reliablity with the 996 does make the 993s and earlier 964/3.2 etc "better" for many. Buying a 911 used to mean you owned a car cast iron record for reliability and over-engineering.
