It used to belong to a relative (he bought it from new) and after a quick reg search it seems it is still on the road and on the above plate - does anyone know of it's whereabouts?

D849 ooM was Jim Gamsbys' SEAC. What model was yours?

TBH I'm not too sure. It might have been a 350i. My step-grandad has a couple of pictures that he dug out when he found out I'd bought a Griff. His son owned it from new, as a nipper I remember him mentioning going to the factory.
I'll drop him a mail to see if he could scan them for me.

I used to own a blue 420 SEAC which was a D*** OOM many years ago. Can't quite remember but I think it was D846 OOM. Does it sound like the one you're looking into ?

The reg I posted is definately correct, it came directly from the photo's (still waiting for the scan) but from memory it was green - I could be totally wrong though knowing my memory!

And could I interest you in publishing a special SEAC register feature on the wedgister?

I've just scanned in an Autocar article from 1987 which features D849 OOM, a blue SEAC. Its the TVR Travelling Cirus article where some Wedges go to Zolder and Zandvoort. On page 60, theres a Dutch 350i with with the registration RX-99-?? Anyone on here?

www.auio31.dsl.pipex.com/dan/tvrcircus.htm

And no, I don't have all the necessary permissions to reproduce the article. If anyone objects to me hosting it for a bit, then I'll remove it. In fact, I'll probably remove it in month or so anyway as I need the space, so save it quickly ;-)

Come to think of it the blue 420 SEAC I used to own may well have been D849 OOM that's pictured here. I remember spotting it at Surrey event at Loseley (including various car club stands) and chatting to the then owner who I think was Jim Gamsby. This was some years after I had the car and probably a good 5/6 years ago now. I think I was the 3rd owner. Great car. The biggest pose I ever had. People at work used to hear me arriving half a mile away which, being near to noisy Heathrow, was saying something. Did Jim emigrate to New Zealand ? He said back then that he was planning to and either going to take the SEAC or another TVR he owned. Would be good to find out who has it now as it the car I 'courted' my wife in (but not much else, there wasn't room).

I had a reply from the TVRCC office yesterday, apparently the car is still registered to an active member. Hopefully we can meet up if the member is OK with it!

Why not arrange to meet up at the wedge fest.. it's pretty central.

Not a bad idea - if the guy is happy to get in touch I'll see what he thinks.

Jim did go to NZ , I spoke to him a couple of months ago. He has multiple TVR's but not the SEAC. He sold it to a someone in London and I have lost trace of the car now

Have been redirected to this thread by another PH member, thanks Dan.

Oh, and hi Sean if you're reading (Slacey)...it's a small World rotate Haven't seen you for probably 15 - 20 years although I do, of course, get updated from time to time

Another registration to look out for is D847OOM, which belonged to my Business Partner and bought at the same time back in '87. The only difference between the two cars was that he chose Champagne leather and mine was Magnolia.

Here's mine which I owned for around 4 years

Also, I'd be interested in hearing from anyone who knew Tim, one of the owners of BLE Automotive, which was based on the Tyburn Road, Birmingham. As I recall, Tim lived in Great Barr and used to race TVR's as well as operate the TVR franchise.
