18in or 19in alloys????

I'm selling my mint 04 M3 Coupe and keep getting calls from dealers looking to buy but pushing way back on price as it doesnt have the 19in alloys - is this really that desirable. One dealer said it would add £1k to the asking price if I had them! Views much appreciated.

I've heard this said before. Cars with 18's or without factory nav are severely disounted in the trade. Of course if I was in the market I'd be taking advantage of this madness by picking up a used car with the better handling 18s and without the factory nav system for a bargain price.

Cheers chaps - it has the prof sat nav just not the alloys which are quite desirable. That said for an 04 plate with only 16k on the clock it should hopefully be still quite desirable.

They bid less! I said I'd take £26.5k for a quick sale. Perhaps I am being unreasonable.....

The problem is that most M3 punters just want whatever is biggest and 'best' on their car, and generally have no real clue - they just want it to look 'proper' and this is reflected in values. Having driven cars on both sizes, the difference is marked and led me to search out a car on 18's.

to be fair tho the 18's look crap and cheap. M3's with 19's like i have on my own stand out alot more too. They quite simply just make the car look better. to devalue ur car by a grand tho for having 18's......lol well thats just harsh!

And no Sat Nav is just an excuse to bid you down. With Tom Toms at £200, inferior factory-fit sat nav is becoming more and more irrelevant.

When I bought my M3 I only looked at cars with 19" wheels.

I wasnt that fussed about sat nav though.

I have to say..."No Sat Nav" is actually a plus point for me! The thing looks ugly...most of the time I know where I'm going...and if I don't I can use a £2.99 map. If I want to watch TV why should I want to watch it on a poxy 4" screen when I've got a 44" screen and a sofa to watch it on at home...and I don't even watch TV at home!

18's are the way forward, the car handles so much better with them.
