Clio P reg - NOT STARTING - IMMOBILISER??? FUEL CUT OUT
Discussion
I have a renault clio, P reg. I have been having major problems with the car not starting. It is like the immobiliser is not letting fuel start the car.
I have second guessed it thinking it might be because the sunroof is leaking and affecting the immobilser so sealed it up and encased the wires in plastic and foil.
Sometimes the car will start, run perfectly fine but then once you leave it, come back to it it won't start at all.
Once left for sometime it seems to perform better, but when coming back to it after short periods the problem seems to keep reoccuring.
You can hear a noise but it doesn't start. I have sometimes had to leave it and come back to it hours later, then it starts.
Recently I have started firing it in gear which seems to bypass the fault and then it starts. I do this by putting the clutch down and working through all the gears. Sometimes it starts in second, sometimes I have to try in fourth!
I have changed the battery in the key fob but that has made no obvious difference. I was going to get an auto electrician out to it - but lo and behold it starts, so they can't see to it when it is in good working order.
It is the bain of my life at the moment and I am petrified of leaving it parked returning to it and then it not starting leaving me stranded.
Can anyone help me? is it at all possible to disable the immobiliser?
Any thoughts would be most welcome.
thanks

God forbid....try everything except getting someone who is capable of fixing it to look at it lol...
Penultimate last resort....ask the internet to fix it !!!
Does sound like the starter could be knackered.
But with it being a french car, it could be anything.
If you are scared....park on a hill. It sounds like it would probably bump start if stuck.
