Dodgy dash

First of all, I admit, my Griff is a bit of a mongrel. It has Cerb seats releathered in a different colour to the rest of the car (the door inserts were done as well) and a "carbon fibre effect" dash.
So... originality is not really an issue.
I wasn't keen on the dash when I bought the car, and it's not 'growing on me'.
The question is; should I source an original dash or go for a Chimaera stylee dash. I've read somewhere that the Special Editions had a Chimaera dash and wondered if it is a simple job to plumb one in or more trouble that it's worth?

Personally I'd go for the original Griffith dash, and there have been a few threads recently about dash templates and re-veneering. I guess if money is no object you could go for which ever dash layout is more pleasing to you but if you go for the Chimaera dash style you'll have to source the correct instruments and ventillation controls. Don't know how easy that would be but I'm sure it could be done.

This is not the case! I've just shelled out for the car and insured it - I now have to get it serviced and get a new alarm installed. All-in-all an expensive coupla weeks.

If anyone has a dash template(the main one)in steel for a early pre cat Griffith, I would be very interested in its purchase.
