www.tvrcarparts.com/pages/partdetail.asp?id=39 I think they still have a stock of the originals too.
bitten the bullet and ordered some spax adjustables, did not have the heart to leave them or bodge it.
fitting new bushes as well, so summer should be good.
just need to fix the basterd petrol sender unit and replace temp gauge and little tidy up jobs.
needs a stainless exhaust system or new system really as old one is okay but looks s**t
i am not even sure ifs it off a 280 and welded to fit a 350i sounds good.
lot of popping when you take foot off accelerator, not sure if this is right but i like it anyway.
long live tvr.
do you think prices of TVR will go down or up now?

New shocks, good choice. You will notice a difference, especially when the old ones were nackered. Probably you will come back when you have them on the car to set them up when adjustable..... But it is nice when you can play with the setup of it, instead of fixing things.
Popping is normal, especially with the 'flapper'type of fuel injection. Popping is not caused by the exhaust, but could be 'enhanced' by it. It is caused by the tuning of the engine (combination of lots of fuel on the overrun, and type of camshaft).

The wishbones and uprights are Cortina, with hubs and brakes being Granada.
So Cortina bearings should fit (Granada ones may be the same anyway).
All those bushes are getting thin on the ground now; I found some place in Wales that listed most of them... can't find my link now though

Front upper & lower suspension arms are Ford Cortina MK III,IV or V, am not sure if the stub-axle is cortina or granada(thanks wedg1e,now i know!),but the hub definitely is granny,'cos its got 5 studs.. would have thought original cortina shocks would have fitted,as the mounting points on top are similar .in theory the wedge being lighter, should make the original shocks feel quite firm?. I've got red-line (gaz) shocks on mine. they are good shocks, and the rebuild costs are very reasonable :-)
. I got rebuilt original suspension arms exchange rebuilt from a company called Kit fit,who specialized in donor items for kit cars...

Aye, they're probably not as different as may be claimed, since there's not a huge weight difference between a wedge and a Granada anyway (about a couple of medium-fat blokes IIRC).

how much does a wedge weigh, co i took the bonnet off and it weighs more than metal i am sure.
i got a fibreglass bonnet for the TR8 and its like a butterflies wings.
bet the lightened TR8 is lighter than the wedge i am sure.

1150 Kg give or take a bit, I seem to recall.

Yep. I concur with that. 1150kg is what they quote, depending on whether youve got PAS, air con etc.
Ive got PAS on mine. Apparently quite a rare option...
nerr-nerr-ni-nerr-nerr!

ETA: the original Tasmin literature never stated the weight of the car; there was lots of references to 'lightweight GRP' but as usual they were being a little economical with the facts...

I take it then that all the ball joints and trackrod ends are Cortina too?
upper and lower ball joints are cortina just been looking at some on ebay.
i noticed there is an adjustable bar coming from the lower wishbone to the chassis, whats this called anyone.
going in the garage this aft and going to do some serious buffing to suspension and chassis, stone chip paint etc.
some of the long bolts on the wishbone to chassis are fecking not budging think they have siezed to the bushes how i get then out i do not know.
still i have plenty of skin on my knuckles for now anyway.
