Purple Sag W6TVR Bham Broad Street
Discussion
Hi Nick,
Might have been me, my closest Shell is the one between Selly Oak and Harbourne. I think I was last there Friday after work.
I'm from Brum originally, but I now live in Rowley Regis, but work in Oldbury (by BMW).
Judging by the girl's directions, I'm guessing the club is the old "Zanzibar" opposite "Slurping Toad"
That Sag wasn't hanging about when it came past here.
I presume you live / work in town ?

Yeah probably was, I was on my way to that shell as its my backup one after the one in town - I live just off broad street in the Jupiter flats. I'm actually a student at Birmingham university in my 3rd year so I drive the chim down to uni every day come rain or shine! Suppose I do work in town as well, but its only at the cineworld cinema on broad street, purely to pay for the chim and the coming upgrades!
Yeah oceana is on that crossroads by the arcadian and the entrance to the bullring carpark. So are there many owners around Brum then? Ive seen a dark blue chim parked in the uni every day but never seen it moving, I presume its one of the lecturers but I dont think he posts on here.
By the way, will deffinately need to get a ride in that Cerb someday as I intend to buy one as soon as I can afford to run one! Was down at Nemesis performance today in Bromsgrove chatting to a friend who runs the place and he was telling me about his dad's cerb running a 700bhp chevy engine which they fitted in a weekend - got me thinking!

Hi Nick, you're welcome to have a blast in the Cerb whenever you want. Saturday's I'm normally following Birmingham City around the country, but most Sunday's I'm available, just let me know when.
Because I'm over this side of Brum, the only one I see regular is "simonkd" off here.
B'ham Uni ? That's the one with the hospital in Harbourne/Edgbaston ?
If so, in the summer, I've seen a Red "S" a few times and there's a Yellow Griff leaves there regularly.
I'd be interested to see how much that Chevy install cost. I'm using too much oil at the moment, so I'm due a rebuild anytime soon.

Looks like you lot are on my doorstep,im from Quinton. I never take the Chim into Brum, guess thats why im never spotted. Work in Kidderminster,so tend to use some of the fab roads over that way. Drive the 306 when i need to travel into the city.
Any of you been to the local TVR meet at Meriden? Been going there for over 2 years now, loads of superb TVR's,nice owners too.

Thanks for the offer Russell, will deffinately get back to you about that! Yeah i'm at the Edgbaston campus - never seen the s or the griff though. Just the dark blue chim and ive seen a dark blue pre cat griff on the way to kidderminster a couple of times near Harbourne...
With regard to the chevy install, i'm heading over there next week for a couple of things so i'll ask some more details.. If you're interested its the joint owner of Nemesis UK (www.nemesisuk.com). The guys name escapes me, but he went to school with a good mate of mine from uni. I think he said his dad raced that cerb but I assume its road legal as he said they had taken it out for a couple of blasts to find out what the handling was like - they couldn't really tell though apparantly as it took too much concentration just to keep it on the road! I'll ask him if he can get it brought down because I think I may need to see it in person!
Sound chaser - you need to bring the chim into town more! - the Queensway tunnels and the underpass on the A38 through town are pretty awesome with the roof down! I know what you mean about kiddiminster though, my housemate lives out near buedly (forgive the spelling!) and some of the roads there are fantastic! Do you work at that boat builders near the ford garage by any chance?!
I havent been to any meets up in Brum yet, as I only got the chim back in November - havent really looked into it yet but would be cool to meet the Midlands lot and go for a drink or two at some point!

Hi Nick,
Funny you should mention the Queensway tunnel, been meaning to give it a blast through there, top off of course!
Yes,i work at Sealine.Only TVR there, out of a workforce of 500.One of the joys of this job is the commute to work. Some very fast parts on the A456 - say no more!
Try and make it over to one of the Meriden meets, its somewhere to go on a Sunday.Failing that we could try and get a few locals together for a West B'ham gathering. Will have to start a new topic for this though. Then we could drive through Brum in convoy, might create a stir!

That sounds like a great idea! Should meet up somewhere and go for a cruise through the city then out near Kidderminster and find a good pub somewhere... Would make a great sound through those tunnels! Just looking to get the ACT cherry bomb system with some other bits very soon so hopefully will have it on for then to make some noise!
Other one's that I know of...
On seeing mine, one of my customers bought a 98 Cerb. It's Black, and he lives in Rubery.
I got a lift of someone recently, and I could swear I got a brief glimpse of an "S" on someones drive around the Gillot Road area of Edgbaston. (I wasn't curb crawling, honest

)There must be a few Sagari in Birmingham because a few months ago I was driving into Birmingham on a week day dropping my other half off to work and saw another orange Sagaris come along the same road in the opposite direction. I just stared open mouthed; probably someone on here I'd imagine. I was coming from the Stratford Road towards Brum nearly at the PC World island.
Not seen that purple one though!

HarBORNE you peasants
Blue Chim might have been me.... if you count dark purple as blue - regularly run in to town from the wilds of Worcestershire. Totally out of touch with what's what on Broad Street these days, but took the Cerb and now the Chim down there at every available opportunity.
Oh BTW, in case you hadnt guessed, the best time to do Queensway is in rushhour at the height of summer - lots of posemobiles and overly styled hair around with their roofs off.... saw one lass take both hands off the wheel and stick her fingers in her ears as I went past!
