Murci crashes....

Just think it's weird that all the crashes are Murci's or LP640's lately, are they just too powerful for "ordinary" drivers like myself, should they come with a driving course?
Whats your thoughts?

They are becoming more accessible, as such they are attracting a different demographic of owner, some of whom are not historically qualified to drive nor respect them..
all Imho

Do you think it's a possibility that people with no experience of supercars are jumping into the Murci, think to themselves 'this thing has got 4 wheel drive and anti-lock brakes etc. so it will be a pussy to drive' and then seem rather surprised when it turns round and bites them?
spot on
I'm so glad I grew up with 200-300bhp RWD first and then moved to 300-400bhp RWD and now 500-600bhp FWD as it's tempting but you know how it was on RWD!!!!
Should there not be some form of ruling as with motorbikes that you must make some form of progression into the up tiers of road car???
Maybe the top manafactures should insist that owners complete some form of dealer provided sessions, lambo cannot be happy having the fantastic cars they produce hitting things, getting negative press, mainly due to poor driving.
(and yes, maybe if this was introduced my 360 spider and I would be parted for a while!)

Chaps, why dont you look at it another way.
The more Lambo's/Ferrari's etc get smashed up/written off...the more rare/exclusive/desirable your own cherished cars become!
Who really gives as sh*t if some ASBO lotto winner or snot nosed kid who can play footy goes and stuffs the odd car??

I bet they are loving every single extra order that the insurance cos are putting forwards and I dare say Lamborghini are probably proud of a reputation for challenging cars?
The internet means that as soon as any bugger has a mis-hap in something fancy, it gets splattered all over www.wreckedexotics.com etc within 5 mins
I dare say that the old school Lambo's were easier to crash, and were probably stuffed more regularly.

Maybe it's just the recent press, but Lambo's get crashed quite frequently - that's why there's lots of 'story' cars to look out for .... Just makes our 'no-story' cars more desirable !
Does that include mine Jon? I still reckon it might sell for 150k at a push what do you think

I wish.
Got posted details yesterday from a guy called Joe Sackey (he owns an SV) of a P400 Miura (unrestored) for sale in the states for $250,000. Early car by the looks of it. I would love one

He seems to have his finger on the pulse, he emailed me details of an Orange Diablo GT which was part of a collection in JPN for , iirc circa $200k USD ( sub 100 miles ) but obviously subject to vat/import

I've long thought there should be a tiered licencing system graded against power/weight ratio. Its not just Murcie's, a TVR Tuscan is more of a handful and a GT3RS would be edgier in inclement weather - personally I found the Murcielago quite friendly as long as you were respectful of its speed (perhaps more accurately the lack of impression of speed, until you started braking for a corner
).
