It's nice to see a thread mentioning the wedgister. I wondered why I had half a dozen new members in the last 24 hours.

At the moment, it's semi dormant because the Pistonheads forum is the main line of interaction for wedgers. However, I believe it's a worthwhile backstop in case anything untoward happens to this forum.

Well there is access to the members profiles, which includes details of their cars, the wescue wedgister for those who want to offer assistance to stranded wedgers, on online forum (little used at the moment for reasons outlined above) and a links page which will take submissions from members.

I want to develop it further once we have a fuller verified membership to include access to lists of chassis numbers, models etc so it becomes a real 'register' for the wedge models

Obviously this relies on the confidence of the membership in the security and privascy of the site, and I'm hoping that the length of time it's been running for now will give people the confidence to enter more details of their cars onto the relevant section of their profile. Nothing will be viewable until everyone is happy that the info can't be misused, and I'm happy to take suggestions for any aspect of the site.

ETA I just noticed a bunch of submitted links which hadn't been published. I'm still learning to drive the site, and assumed it would email me new links. Apologies to those who had submitted the links for the delay in publishing.

When we get to 100 I'll put a bit more time in and send out a mass mail asking for people to add more to their profiles so we can make it a really worthwhile site to visit.

I've just added and set up a blogging facility so you can keep an online record of your wedge ownership with pics, info and stories etc. Chassis numbers and reg plates are now viewable for verified and logged in wedgers. If anyone has a problem with that. Edit your profile and stick a couple of asterisks in place of the last couple of chassis number digits or preferably the reg plate details.

Membership is up to 96.

I'm thinking of setting up a gallery for waifs and strays to which people can upload pics of non-registered wedges to. Keep the ideas coming please.

I have just registered, looks like another popular site for Wedge owners.

I sent out a mail to the wedgister members the other day, but only got 1 reply (Hi Leo!) and no new site visits. I'm not too bothered about that, it's still in development and Pistonheads meets our needs for a forum, but just wondered if the mailshot got to everyone.

Could a few people just follow this up if they got the email.
