Changed encoder and still not working!!!!
Discussion
Hi Andrew,
I had the same problem which turned out to be a combination of corroded connections/wires in the main (mil-spec type) connector that joins the door loom to the main car loom and one of the door ECU's playing up. If you remove the central console you can see the door ECU's sitting just behind where the ashtray sits. Try swapping these over first to see whether the fault moves to the passenger window. If it doesn't then I would recommend belling the wires from the encoder to the ECU - I used a standard multimeter and buzzed between the 3 wires in the loom connector (that plugs to the encoder connector) and the main connector that runs back to the ECU. If you are not getting continuity along the wires then it is likely that the door connector is corroded - need to take the door off really to get at that......
Hope this helps,
Andy
