Bonus check is in the bank and first on the shopping list is a PSE for the Porsche.

My local OPC quoted me the equivalent of Belgium's national debt to fit the thing so I'm thinking of going the indy route.

So, based in central London which indy should I use (anyone here fancy some business..?)?

Also, a couple of questions:

- Can an indy fit the "switchable" exhaust as per OPC? Not too bothered if not.
- Can they fit a Tubi instead of PSE or does this have to be done by Scuderia?
- How much???

Thoughts welcome.

Cheers - Erik.

I'll be watching this thread closely. I really want one too, but I don't really want to pay £1700.

Had a lump of carry paid into my account today too, so in exactly the same situation.

RGA in vauxhall are going to be doing the installation if I go the indy route, and would recomend them

Indies wont be able to wire in the switch though I dont think - I was told it was because any wiring like this would invalidate the warranty as not been done by an OPC - how true that is, i dont know.

Although I have also been told that simply welding the flaps open in the exhaust is a bad idea, so dont really know which option to go with.

Then comes the issue of PSE, Fabspeed, Danks etc etc etc

Surely a Tubi has to be on that list... I've heard a 997 with a Tubi and it sounds awesome. I think that's probably the option I'm going for. Looking at a set of Techart exhaust tips to finish it off (really don't like the PSE small/large tips).

Tubi was in the 'etc'

Spoke with Manu (manny?) at scuderia, and he priced it, from memory, at about £1400 ish
PSE fitted by indy would be about £1300
Fabspeed about £100
Dansk about £800

Everyone i have spoken too though has different views on each one - in particular with regards to what the resonance is like at motorway speeds. Altough everyone agrees the PSE does not have this issue

For the 997, i think it may be worth speaking to JZ machtec - they have a supplier called europipes and I have heard nothing but good reviews on these. Shame they dont make them for the 996 anymore

I (weston Porsche) could fit the exhaust for you, but not the switch.
If you want to give us a call we could work out the price depending on what exhaust you want. Our number is 020 8778 3585 or 07904 911 944.
If you want a reccomendation, stuttgartmetal is one of our clients.
we are based in beckenham, south london.
Ask for Warren or Dan
Thanks

Muller - any interest in some form of bulk discount?

I'm definitely interested.

Muller - sounds very good and I'll give you a call on Monday to discuss logistics etc. However, it would be good if you could quote the price for fitting an OEM PSE without the switch as I'm sure a lot of other people on here would be interested.

PS - OPC West London quoted me over 2,500 which I thought was a disgrace.

Cheers - Erik.

Ok, im not sure of the cost of the part as OPC Colchester (our parts supplier) close there parts depo on the weekend. The cost to fit is £150 including VAT.
Ill get a price for the parts on Monday.
As for the group discount, that might be a possible depending how many is in the group.
I have also spoke to Warren about the possibility of fitting the switch as well and he is going to find out if it is possible and what it involves and also if it will invaladte the warrenty.
Ill post more info as i get it but feel free to give us a call about it on 020 8778 3585 from monday.
Thanks

Dan

To follow this up - Muller any joy on pricing, and whether you would be able to do the full wiring without warranty issues?
