Microsoft Dynamics CRM
Discussion
Hi miniman
I can't answer your question precisely, but I can tell you that MS CRM is entirely web service based in terms of interaction with external applications. A key point to note is that it isn't designed to call other applications. For example, we are currently integrating MS CRM 3.0 with Sage MMS, a website and another third party application with custom-built adaptors and we have to poll MS CRM perioidcally rather than MS CRM just calling our web services. Not ideal but there are workarounds such as MS CRM calling an ASPX page with a GUID and the ASPX page then calling MS CRM to retrieve the data it requires.
If you need more technical information I'm sure one of the developers working on this could drop you an email.

Thanks, that's useful. The environment we would be working in would be based wholly around our Web CMS calling MS CRM to provide user identity authentication and to request updated user profile details. We might also want it to serve specific user detail maintenance screens / pages but again the request to do so would be initiated from the CMS. Good to know that it's based around web services though - thanks for the info, the MS site is (as usual) lacking in useful detail...
