The New Typhoon in EVO
Discussion
I actually think it's stunning. Or at least I imagine it would be if it ever saw the light of day which is currently very hard to believe. Trouble is, I'd never buy one even after a lottery win because of NS's behaviour and because it wouldn't be built in britain. I don't care even if it's built better abroad, the fact that my Tuscan was built in Blackpool was a major reason I bought it. A TVR should be at the very least built in britain, it's a fundamental component of every TVRs dna.
This is no TVR but it is a great bit of british design (NS didn't design it by the way and by all accounts has had very little to do with it on account of f***ing off to Vienna when he should have been facing the music over here). Everyone is understandably confusing the current tragedy with the looks of this prototype. The former sucks beyond belief, while the latter is actually first rate work.

I know that fiberglass cars are a lousy basis for radio reception but why would you put a roof aerial detail on a CAD concept for a 120k supercar? Incidentally this only seems to be present on the rear view.
Because it is possible - and was tested/proved, although not introduced to production AFAIK - to create a metal foil groundplane between the roof and the headlining for a DAB aerial. A factory demo Sagaris had this done. Then again, might just have been an enthusiastic student sticking an aerial on the drawing.
I thought it looked VX220 from the back aswell.
I'm not convinced on the styling.
I very much doubt it will ever make it to production, it will be years off if it does.
I can't see anyone forking out £120k for a car from a manufacturer that has no clear direction (or idea) of where it is going.
I was discussing this with someone in the motor industry the other day and we reckoned that it would be at least six months before any kind of TVR production is up and running.

So you don't think the Evo concept was the design student's idea for a wicked radio-controlled car that some PR opportunist thought could be re-purposed as a newsworthy car launch placeholder?

....now you come to mention it.... the one they showed the dealers WAS radio-controlled size....
