Air intake and re-mapping

Has anybody fitted the shorter air intakes and had the ecu active re-mapping done on a 4.5 Cerbie? If so was it worth it? Was the difference significant?

If you are referring to the "Whirlwind" type short Induction Pipes like these - www.trackcarsolutions.net/shop/index.php?act=viewProd&productId=59 - and then a remap, then yes it is definitely worth it, you can expect the bhp to go up to 400bhp with most around the 390bhp mark. Joolz at Track Car Solutions is the man to contact as well as Austec for similar treatment.

yep mines had it. Worked well. The car is quicker and smoother.

Depends on where you are in the country, Joolz (trackcar Chesterfield) & Austec Racing (Gatwick) offer a similar upgrade.

Thanks everyone. Yes the whirlwind intakes are what I had in mind. Does this improve the throttle response? I prefer the 4.2 throttle response to my 4.5 but went for the 4.5 as I was advised it could be tuned more easily and I wanted my Cerb to get closer to doing what TVR claimed it would do in their sales blurb.....

Yes it does improve throttle response as you will have more power/torque throughout the rev range, and as a result of the remap your power delivery will be much smoother than the poor on / off delivery of the standard map.

Had the short pipes and remap done along with some work on the heads. Transformed the low end performance, no flat spots now. High end probably better as well. Go for it - I used Trackcar
