On the Suzuki GSXR 1000 07
What`s all this malarky ...3 power settings...anybody know how it works...?
Is it a rev limit to limit the power or a system where the butterfly opening is impaired on the throttle bodies ...sounds quite good and a nice twist on traction control...

more likely than not it'll be done on the ignition map to retard the spark for less power, this way you still have the full rev range, and the throttle will still open from 0-100%. Doing this any other way is not safe.

This is very common amongst traction control systems in cars, but they do this instantaneously. I have a friend with a 300hp, 480kg car, who has a wet TC setting and a dry TC setting, it works using two diff maps.

Yeah but on the wet setting it's still 120bhp - as if you can't still do a sh*tload of damage with 120bhp in the wet.... I'd rather leave it on full power and just not twist the throttle as far, personally.
