Will there be a shortage of parts for Chims soon as TVR's future is so uncertain?
Bloody hope not!
I am planning on buying a Chim very soon and this is a worry for me.

I think the problem would only arise if ever FORD (& others) go bust hehe

They used so many different suppliers for the same parts that someone will always have something...

All the parts, drawings, rights and WHY for the RV8 cars was sold to TVR Power, which was itself the subject of a management buyout, a few weeks ago. I'm quite comfortable with the future supply of parts.

Just a thought - are the rubbers bespoke to TVR or are they made up from someone elses?
I have dealt with a firm in Tunbridge Wells who stock a vast number of rubber extrusions (there are others around the country aswell I think)and they may be able to match it.

On the parts front generally, I would have thought we were better off as Chim owners now TVR Power have the rights rather than relying on NS.

Engine parts and most mechanicals - not a chance of there being a shortage. The cars are parts-bin specials and until Ford, Vauxhall, etc. stop making the appropriate parts and assuming that specialists stop making pattern parts then there won't be a problem.

Also, as already mentioned, TVR Power now own the rights to most of the parts so that isn't an issue either unless they go bust and that's only going to happen when nobody needs parts anymore in which case the question is moot.

Who owns the body moulds though and is producing body panels? I'd like to know the answer to that - is it TVR Power?
