Yes, this has been discussed in many threads, but I haven't found a definitive answer yet.

I'd like to have a wooden steering wheel for my Chim, the Nardi personal.

I know that many have gone for the Momo Fighter, however, I think it doesn't look as good as the Nardi, fitting a new boss can be a PITA and the TVR badge won't fit.

I tried to source a Nardi with no luck so far, so I wrote to Nardi who confirmed that there is no distributor for the UK and they referred me to a German shop which I contacted but have not received an answer yet.

I see some of you have fitted the Nardi, where did you get it from?

Got mine through posting a "wanted" ad in PH classifieds.
Have you tried that?

not yet, couldn't imagine one would part with that

I've been watching the classifieds though. Out of interest, what did you pay?

Check this site - it is American but the wheel here www.geocities.com/nardinardi/itm00688.htm is virtually original pattern but with an engraved logo of the Monza track on the bottom spoke. This is the same wheel as I have on my Chim - see my profile. Also on the site is a wood version of the standard leather steering wheel.

I actually got mine from a guy who bought both from this site as he couldn't decide which he preferred. I remember him saying they were very helpful.

Steering wheel has the same 6 screw holes under the boss so is fitted with 4 original screws and 2 long ones then just a simple trim of the horn push, wire it to earth and away you go! Looks the mutts nuts IMHO

Bought this one for my Chim,I know it's not the Personal one but it fits straight onto the existing boss and utilises the existing horn push without modification.
If you want a pic of it in situ let me know.

Good find! Now I know the diference between the steering wheels fitted to Chims and Griffs - Chims are Personal Grinta, Griffs are Personal Lesmo. Cheers! drink

We're in Warsash, car is T***JEL - I commute to Newbury / Theale in it once or twice a week (waking the neighbours as I leave) and then potter around locally or on the A32/A31/A272/A303/A35 at weekends.

yuck you soiled the thread, now you mob it up hehe

Whats wrong with a wooden steering wheel? It complements the dash and goes along well with the fluffy dice

An update:

I just received a reply from the German dealer who does not have it in stock but can order it from Nardi, delivery time 1 to 2 weeks.

The next order will be placed tomorrow, orders are placed every 6 to 8 weeks.

Price: 185 Euros plus 22 Euros shipping to the UK. That's 137 quid, not bad for a new one

Hi Chimsane,

Did you order one of these steering wheels? I would like to order one and was wondering if there was a specific ref. number or product number that I should quote when e-mailing them.

Any info would be gratefully received.

Many thanks

<thread hijack>

While on the subject of steering wheels, how easy/difficult to replace the horn button/TVR logo on the OE wheel? The paint on mine has flaked a bit on one side...
