New Tamora purchase
Discussion
As a couple of the other owners have already said, one of the most important points seems to be getting the oil up to temperature before using excessive revs.
I always try to get my oil up to 60/65 degrees before exceeding 3000rpm. This can be a little tedious, particularly in cold weather when it can take ages, but it seems to have paid off, as my car has not consumed any oil at all in the 2000 miles since it was last serviced.
It may also be worth adjusting the change-up lights, (if your dealer hasn't already done so), so that they are set around 3000/4000rpm. This should help you stay within the suggested rev range during the first 1000 miles.
One of the must frustrating things I found as a new owner was getting the roof panel in and out of the boot without scuffing the mohair or ripping the rubber strips off the sides. A number of owners have now added spacers or washers between the gas strut and the boot lid to increase the opening. I finally carried out this modification on mine recently and I can now almost lift the roof panel in and out of the boot with just one hand.
