The captured nuts attached to my Vixen S2 bonnet frame have seen better days and need replacing.

I want to fit some sort of quick release hinge/bonnet pin to the frame.

Has anyone ever done anything like this before. Some pointers/access to a machine shop would be apreciated.

Thanks

Darren

the illustrious Mr Venn or Mr Reid can sell you a kit to do the job. Failing that a suitably sized threaded rod end and a turned down bolt to make a pin with a spring clip

Darren,

Drop me an email if you want a couple of photo's of the quick release pins I purchased. If I'd known they're so simple I would have made them ....

The ones I purchased (not from Adrian or Steve) didn't have the holes drilled exactly through the centres so only align one way up.

You can spend a morning cursing trying to line up the pins or mark them up before you fit them :-)

Also when you cut the loom and add in the plug/socket pick one that only plugs in one way around - when it gets dark and this is the last job before the test run you'll understand what I mean ...

Once fitted they're invaluable and I don't know why I didn't do it years ago.

I think you will find the Vixen and "M" Series bonnet mounts are totally different and not interchangable ( except S4 Vixen before some SA chips in ) sTeVeR
