Starting to get ideas about a change soon and wonder what I sould be asking for my Chimaera as a private sale if I decide to sell. I ask as prices seem to vary so much for very similar models at the moment and if I commit to this I dont want it to be up for sale for months on end!

So, what would you say a fair price for the following car would be?

TVR Chimaera 4.0
98 S
Cooper Green
26,000 miles
Demo + 1 previous owner
Flint Half hide, BRG Carpets
Full Leven Tech (Just done)
4 Brand new S03s
Full TVR Service (last done in Jan 03)
Waxoyled (although only used in Dry???)
Clifford concept 300 alarm with remote start, boot and door open!! (fitted Feb 03)
Rear speaker upgrade
Tax/MOT

NON PAS

As for condition, I would say that this car is as near perfect as poss for its age (as described by several main dealers)and has generally been spoiled for the last couple of years!.

My Guess, 17K.
Looking forward to your opinions (I think!!!!)

Cheers,

Matt.

I am afraid to say I had more or les the same car last year 98R 18k and the big problem was "NON PAS" in the end was getting offered £14,250 for the car so ended up part exing it, was the only way.

Bear in mind it may be worth retro fitting PAS (£1500) in order to try and sell it

Mine was up for sale for 6 months before I finally got fed up with time wasters and idiots

Just for info mine was fuul hide, resprayed front, refurbished alloys etc etc.

Sorry to be the barer of bad news but £17,000 sounds very high !!!
Good Luck

I'd say somewhere in the middle! Having been on the lookout for a Chimaera (before I got the Griff), I've seen many a Chimaera of that spec advertised for 17k, though none as low as 14k. I'd say you should sell it at 16k, though my only concern with selling that car (other than PAS, which is accounted for in the price) is the colour. Green seems to be the least popular colour at the moment.

Darren.

14k is WAY too low - you wanna give it away?

Depends whether you just want some cash or not.

If the sale is not THAT desperate 16k would be a good start.

All these 'new kids on the block' funky 20-something Chim owners want all these jazzy colours nowadays apparently - orange and other sickly colours IMO.

If the car is good it'll go - but don't give it away - if you're only after 14k I'll have it myself - and I've already got a Cooper Green Chim!

Thanks for your input! although Im still a little unsure.

If its 15 or less (which it may well have to be if Im to sell fairly quickly) then I think its time to give that Mark Adams chap a call, have a few mods done and keep it for a while longer.

Think I need to start another thread on this idea
