What do you guys reckon is the least amount of tread depth that is realistically the minimum to go to before changing tyres?

Whenever I've got to the wear bars on any tyre on the Wedge, things start getting a bit loose at the back in the wet. That's at 2mm on my T1S's.

I drive my Tuscan all year round, and after a near death experience in the wet I change well before the legal limit - at 3mm or more.

3mm is where I change them.
Not being funny, but it is really worth the risk of not having enough grip on the boots?

I wouldn't go below 3mm either. Stopping distances are severely affected after that.
Di d you see the 5th Gear (I think) show that had 2 identical cars, one with new rubber the other with just legal tyres. THey travelled at the same speed and hit the brakes at the same time. The just legal tyred car plughed into the one with new tyres as if it hadn't braked!!!!!!!!!!

I would agree with that too. 3mm is not a lot of water shifting volume if it's bucketing down.
You could sell them on or give them to someone for track day use though.
