Drive shaft gaiters
Discussion
well I've just done mine:
gaiters from www.racetechdirect.co.uk £15 each inc clips
500g moly grease from Halfords about £5
sealey gaiter clip (ear type) tool from www.toolcrew.co.uk £9 inc postage
need a good/new 1/2" drive 8mm hex key & circlip pliers
used one of those pencil wire brushes and a bit of carb cleaner to clean out the CV joint bolts
you have to release the lower wishbone pivot bolts and lift the hub away to get the driveshaft out
torque setting to use on the CV joint bolts is 32-35 lbft, see: www.thegriffithpages.com/modificat
although not TVR specific, I thought this info was useful: www.rennlist.com/techarticles/944C
a fairly straightfoward job if you have the basic tools and all the bits to hand. I spent quite a while cleaning everything and putting POR-15 on any rusty bits while the drive shafts were out, also fitted a set of steve heath drop links at the same time. make sure you've got good solid axle stands! hope that helps, Paul
