I won't bore you with the details, but I support a particular charity that is expanding their operation. As part of this they are opening a shop-front in the town. Currently there are steps going into the building and we'll need to put in disability access and fittings (toilets, etc).

A friend of mine said that the college she works at managed to get a government grant to pay for the work to carry out disability access. Now I'm thinking that if a college "qualifies" it's conceivable that a charity might also qualify.

As such, does anyone know where to start looking for this information?

Talk to your local council.

Usually the Economic Development Unit or Regeneration Dept will be able to tell you what may or may not be available.

Some areas have more grants available than others.

Good luck!

Hmm, fascinating idea. I'll also talk to the council. Thanks.
