Howdo folks, just got myself a daddy-wagon - '95 import WRX estate, very good condition, absolute hoot to drive, and practical enough to fit in the military style operation that is taking my three-month old girl and all the neccessary around on visits etc.

Quick question - speedometer conversion to MPH.

Any PHers got experience of this? Seen stuff like this on flea-bay. Anyone any experience of these, or would it be better taking the car to a garage.

Cheers in advance thumbup

The garage will just fit something like this anyway...

There's 2 ways to do the speedo conversion.

1. a new speedo dial that is calibrated in mph

2. a converter thingy that fits in cable from the gearbox to the speedo. They are easy to fit.

Item 1 doesn't remove the 112 mph (180kph) limiter but item 2 effectively does as it moves the limiter to 180 mph.

I've got a one of the little conversion boxes fitted to my speedo cable. There easy to fit, as the speedo cable is easy to get to, mine fits just under the clutch master cyclinder.
