Looking at Tuscan with a "Red Rose engine upgrade" by TVR dealer with "Factory Supplied Parts" Rebuild only just completed but no warranty with the car as dealer states "only some parts renewed"
Comments and advice welcome and appreciated.
Thanks, Mike.

If its only some parts renewed & no warranty, then its probably not had a rebuild & the dealer is trying to cover his arse.
Find out who did the work, if its the factory you may be out of luck. If its TVR power or other indie, then they should be able to verify what was done.

Work was done by TVR main dealer. Would this make a difference?
thanks, Mike.

What are you looking for advice on:

1. Dealer is selling a Tuscan without any warranty (other than what the law stipulates he must provide) for the whole car.

or

2. Specific engine working carried out previously (by different or same dealer?) is not covered by warranty. (Is it the same dealer?, what work? how long ago? how many miles since?)

My 2p is that neither would bother me hugely, but I would factor it into the price.

Mike, try to find out exactly what was done. Any invoices etc?
I didn't think dealers could do engine work, they normally ship the engine back to the factory or TVR power.

Car is in fact been sold privatley so the info I am getting is via the seller although I don't doubt what the seller is telling me.Will ask the seller if he can ask the dealer to talk to me directly,
Thanks, Mike.

Which dealer allegedly did the work? Have you tried speaking to them for their views on the car?

Saw the car today. It is a Tuscan with an original Red Rose upgrade. Damage was done to engine by the fitting of a traction control system! Almost £6000.00 woth of repairs. Seems the reason that the dealer won't offeer warranty on repair is that dealer recommended a new block. This recommend was not taken up by the owner. What to do?

Regards Mike.

I concur.

I'm by no means trying to puch mine but I have just had a full rebuild (red rose), clutch etc etc and I have a full pile of receipts, warranty for 12 months with Power and I know there are other similar cars on the market at a good price, so why bother with something that leaves you asking questions????
