It's done, after missing out on a few Chims & Griffs and looking at a Chim that had been in a front end smash and the repair job was crap, I've only gone and bought my first Chimaera and I'm sooooo excited!!!bouncebounce Don't have any pics yet so one from the classifieds will have to do for now. www.pistonheads.com/sales/largepic.asp?i=110589&noPics=6&current=6

97' 400 in British Racing Green (fastest of course) with 29,000 on the clock!

Will put a pic on my profile when I get chance (and find out how to do it!!)

Car is currently at Leven's having a major 12,000 service and a few bits and pieces done, plus a valet and polish and I will be getting the train to Basildon, via London, at 7.40 a.m. on Saturday to pick her up followed by a drive up the M1 to the PH Eurohoon pi55up at The Dun Cow, Dunchurch, Rugby on Saturday afternoon - can't wait. beer

I have to say a big thank you to the seller for being so patient with me when viewing the car last Sunday, also to my good mate Al (Burriana) who gave me such great advice whilst searching and came with me to view the Chim we looked at that turned out to have been in a front end smash and finally Leven's, who have bent over backwards to do the inspection for me (including one of Leven's Griff customers who was willing to move his service due on Friday so mine could be serviced - big thumbs up to him!!!), the subsequent service and the required work all within this week - last 3 days actually, now that's service for you clap They have been excellent....such a big difference from any experience I've had from other garages - can highly recommend them bow Also thanks to Del (I think it was Del - apologies if it wasn't) for suggesting to Burriana that I contact Leven to get them to do an inspection before I committed any of my hard earned.

Can't wait to drive her and get that grin on my face Happy Days!!! Hope to meet some of you guys at meets and I intend to go to as many PH events as I can, so look forward to meeting some of you then!

Absolutely! Love yours by the way....am also thinking of getting a personal plate for her, I've seen one on DVLA which starts V8 ...like yours but will have to save a few pennies first. Nice wheels too!

Well done Ron, welcome to the fold. wavey
First priority has to be the last pilgrimage back up to the factory to party with the workforce who built her:

Congrats! Definately the fastest and best colour. Just a word of warning with the private plate, i'm not sure you can put a V reg plate on a car registered before 1999. I wanted to put V8 DVL on mine but was advised i couldn't as mine is an S reg. Correct me if i am wrong though. Enjoy!!

You can put a plate on that is older than the original registration, but you cannot use a plate newer than the date of first registration

Yep teacher is the guy ... commonly known as Seasider ... or simply

And I wondered if you'd get round to thinking of a plate for it ... but yes, unfortunately a 'V' prefix is too young for the car.

See you/it tomorrow - could meet at Watford Gap Services between Junction 16 & 17 if you like? Only a 10-15 minute run into Dunchurch from there.
