RV8 Resistive HT Circuits

Can someone explain the theory behind adding resistive caps/plugs/leads etc to RV8 HT circuits? Do some setups need them and others not, eg comparing my TVR V8 to the on in the SD1 are the plug extenders in a TVr to combat heat, or are they resistive? etc etc

resistive plugs reduce electrical/RF noise which can cause serious problems with an ECU setup.
