Can anyone recomend a really quiet CPU cooler for an AM2 processor? I have the stock one on my PC in the lounge at the moment and it is making my ears bleed. Also it cant be too big as space is a bit limited inside the Antec Fusion case, eg the Arctic Freezer Pro I bought is just too tall and hit the top of the case so something just a touch smaller.

Ta very much.

Before getting extra hardware, jump in to the BIOS and make sure anything marked "Cool n' Quiet" is turned on. Grab the latest CPU driver from AMD's website and turn on the power saving stuff. I realise the new AM2 format CPU's are rather different from the old original S764 AMD64's, but I read reviews of an AMD64 3400 playing a DVD and powering down it's fans (it left the rear exhaust fan ticking over I believe) as they weren't needed when CnQ was enabled and fully supported.

If that doesn't work, then the Zalman is pretty damn good.

Thanks. Looked into that last night and it didnt seem to work. However I had forgot that I had put some overclock settings into the Motherboard so I might need to turn all those back to auto so as not to overide the cool 'n' quiet. But worth a shot as you say.
