Monaro VXR

I've had the sport pac cat back system fitted and agree it's superb. But what should I do next and in what order?

Rip shifter
AP Brakes
Front exhaust.
3.9 Diff.

What do you guys think.

Brakes, then rip shifter , then front exhaust, then diff

My opinion only of course

Cheers - That seems a sensible option.

Well, you've got it going faster...it would be prudent & an advantage to stop it now, so brakes next; then I think DiFillipo headers, ripshifter & diff after that!

breaks then supercharger could be done for the cost of the rest.

I found the VXR brakes to be "ok" before doing any mods so I would definitely do the AP's before the Diff.

The headers will release a few hp but I would do the rip shifter before that, if you haven't tried one before I would recommend you do soon, the difference is well worth the money.

So:

Rip shifter
Front exhaust (Headers)
AP Brakes
3.9 Diff

Thanks again guys. I would like to try the ripshifter on a VXR but don't know where there might be one. Problem is I'm in North Yorkshire and I don't know anyone within a reasonable distance who has one fitted that I could see.

I'm almost sure at this point I want to go for the brakes next, then ripshift (if it's as good as you all say) then the headers!

Any other opinions would be welcomed.

I have a set of AP's - if you need your eyeballs setting free, let me know!
Have driven a car with Rip, but haven't got one fitted - better than std poridge bucket - that wouldn't be hard. Gear shift does inprove slightly with miles

I have to say if you drive on the smaller roads round by you then get a set of AP's ASAP!
Or wait until the others cook and you need a change of trousers

Personally I would do brakes, headers (because they sound SO DAMN GOOD) and I might think about a Ripshifter. I don't think it is as necessary as everyone makes out on the VXR at least which already has a tighter unit anyway. The diff is also awesome but I would be tempted to save my pennies up for a supercharger

I'd go for ap brakes cos they are the dogs b****cks! with perhaps a rip shifter, then if you have the funds go for race logic traction control-you won't be disapointed!.ask AM04ARO.

I think after having al that fitted i would do the following;

AVO suspension (you can drive faster with no more power)
AP brakes
Diff
Headers
Traction Control

Diff really does give a huge boost but the suspension set up gives really good control which means you will be driving faster anyway.

What a nice choice to have.

I would agree with Benno and go for brakes next and then a supercharger. You have a good sound already (not as mad as headers)but by adding the brakes you can stop and are well prepared for a supercharger which gives you a serious power/torque gain and lays a foundation for going further!

As the component cost of the others is less it may be easier to add each one of those later or indeed the suspension.

err, if your a straightline racer the ripshifter first, saves those oh dear just got beat cos I can't change gear. Then the Diff.

If your in it for the corners (fast or drift) then the suspension followed by the ripshifter.

All would benefit from cat back and remap.

oops, brakes first if you drive fast and go over the speed limit, mine where rubbish once they got too much heat in them, three roundabouts in a row = no brakes on a cv8.
