Who slagged who off? Or is this L7 Club Management flapping over nothing again?

Argument between the usual suspects plus some airing of the clubs laundry in public. Thread going on here about it: www.seventorque.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=33207

It all got rather silly. I can completely understand Barry's decision to close it for a bit. It's a shame but ultimately necessary.

What's happened now? The guys in charge have always seemed ludicrously over-sensitive, the whole Arrowstar saga and the excessively cautious legal interpretation they took over libel law following that seemed to me to be out of sync with other forums. This place survives with more than the odd forthright opinion voiced... And its not alone.

It's a shame, but since they went members-only (which was for security reasons too, to control who posted what) I had lost interest personally, since I was no longer an owner.

A lot of people at the time this happened noted that it would change nothing in terms of risk to the "club" and the silliness that was occurring at the time. It would seem this indicates this may be proven.

Shame, as Blatchat is a great resource for 7 enthusiasts and many of the people involved are great people to know.

You'd need to understand the facts first on this one. FWIW a lot of those people who drifted away eventually rejoined in any case.

Yea.. WTF is this all about.

Now I have received a threatening email from the 7torque forum stating that any threads about the club will be removed, banned, censored and the poster will be terminated.

Shove this crap and somebody tell us WTF is going on. UNtil then my membership cheque will stay in my pocket. Hopefully PetrolTed and Haymarkets wont get all girlie like 7torque and let the truth be known.

You mean this???
---------------------------------------
In recent days there have been several threads discussing the goings on at the Lotus 7 Owners Club and discussions about various posts on blatchat.com. This is understandable as many of the members here are also members of the Lotus 7 club and the issues of recent days are on your minds. But discussing issues not related to this forum, with or without facts, is likely to bring us down to the same road and I don't want that and I am sure the membership doesn't want that either. So in order to keep the peace and maintain the reputation of this forum I am going to place and ban on any discussions about the Lotus 7 Owners club, any discussions about the club and its members will be removed by our moderators. I am sure the issues of last week will surface many times again in the next few months so its prudent that we raise this ban today.

Do not start threads just to test us. You will be banned from this forum. Anyone making a genuine mistake will be given the benefit of the doubt but the thread will be removed. There is no reason why we can't carry on as we have been doing for the last few years - so lets behave and remember what I have said above.

Thanks
Seven Torque Admin

---------------------------------------

I dont really see how this is threatening TBH. 7T has nothing to do with BC and vice versa so the admin are making it clear they dont want an issue that could result in possible legal issues from BC spreading over to 7T when its got nothing to do with that forum.

I saw nothing threatening, etc LR^2 -- in fact the note was great proactive positioning in light of whatever went on at the original site. I applaud the Se7entorque admins for not getting dragging into what appears from the outside a nasty spat!

My recommendation would be to let this thread quietly die and pass away into the ether!!!!!

Ok maybe I reacted somewhat strongly, but apparantly its not "just" a spat, since it invokes shutting down forums, spreading censorship across to other forums etc..etc..

Are they doing something illegal?...the jist I got was something related to membership fees? Eitherway censorship sucks on the internet.
