Just wondered if my old car had a factory one-off mod - the new owner (m1nky) took it to TVR Power for a quick check over and found a few things different on it, including the clutch footrest.

I hadn't looked at that many TVRs before I bought it so assumed it was an option that quite a few people took, but I've mentioned it before on here and have been met with the equivalent of blank expressions!

So my question is - does your T350/Tam/Sagaris have one - yes/no and what year?

Thanks

Nope, my Nov '02 Tamora doesn't.

Sounds like a good idea though.

Nope ( '05 T350 ).

I last had one on the MX-5 (quite a few years ago now). Loved it and do miss it - very comfy for long drives.

My old 05 Plate T350T had one. I bought the car brand new and it wasn't on the spec sheet so I know it wasn't an 'option'. Having said that, my car also had the ally stalks, sunvisors and boot cover, so it was built before they started cutting back on the bits and pieces.

Do you mean a separate thingumy or the metal pedal box 'backing'? I rest my foot on this backing since I'm a lanky git. However for the more serious driving types they want the left foot more next to the clutch and less underneath it for fast clutchumous.

It's been a while since she went to her new home, but i'm pretty sure I recall resting my left foot on on a seperate ally rest of some sort. I'll let you know in a few hours when I get home from work and I've checked the interior pics of it on my computer.

i had a look at a 55 plate saggy that was for sale late last year on this website and the owner asked to factory to put a foot rest on for him no problem.

Whoops my mistake, I didn't have a rest as such, but instead I had a curved ally face on the pedal box. I used to rest my foot on that.

None were factory fitted to my knowledge - they did look at the easy design of the one I had made up in '04 but their budget constraints were tight by then.

It can be easily fabricated from a small single sheet of steel, but needs to be fairly easy to remove as any footrest tends to block removal of the cover plate for the pedals, and access is often needed to these. Off-the-shelf ones also allow your foot to get stuck behind them, my well-tested one deflects your foot safely around it.

My fixing solution was 3 firm bolts through transmission tunnel & correct-sized washers each side, with 3 slots (large at one end to allow heads through) in the backplate of the footrest. You feel much more part of the car around roundabouts etc

Have a photo, but not got around to organising hosting after Fotango site expired - if anyone wants to copy it PM me with your e-mail address & I'll send a pic.

55 Saggy and not one in mine. Not sure I would really put one in, seems fine as things are.

Mines the car in question and the footrest looks like a 4th pedal (if that makes sense?) - identical to the other 3, just fixed. Dont think I could live without it. Oh, and p.s. TurboTomato - the car is FANTASTIC!! The smile gets a little bigger every time I drive it - CHEERS

Believe me, once you've had it you wouldn't want to go back!

This is the best pic I have unfortunately. You can just see it on the left hand side of the footwell. Maybe m1nky could help out by getting a better shot of the pedal set!

The way it matches the other pedals, I just thought it was a factory option. It's very handy, isn't it

Fab mate, I'm glad you're enjoying it as much as I am!!
