Know our S has the 3.44, is the std car 3.2 or 2.7?

I think the latest late ones had 2.76 to shut it up for the motorway. Same as the metro auto. I think the reissue cooper 998's had a 3.44.

Cool have to get this right when telling people that might buy it - think will drop it a few 200 quid and get a new MOT (as runs out in a few months and people will moan)! But parked up and Perfect now.

My 91 cooper had a 3.1 as standard.

Standard SPI Cooper car is 3.2fd. Later MPI Cooper went to longer gearing (2.76fd) to get past drive-by noise regulations (included getting rid of the engine driven fan and going to a front mounted rad).

3.1fd was standard on 1275cc Mini Sprites / Mayfairs (92- end of production).
